The question first. Can a system get corrupted to a pont that it will mess up IP. I have a new modem from Newegg (replacing the Ambec I was thinking was bad) - I have disconnected my US Robotics router (which is one month out of warranty, and seems to be acting up too), and I have used Zone Alarm on and off - tried all sorts of combos. Still the web through this new D link DCM-202 is good sometimes, and SLOWWW to nothing at other times.

Help me if you can. I do not want to reload my XP Pro / SP2 unless I have to. Everything else seems fine.

I have overclocked the new Athlon 64 3000+, but it is showing stable in Prime 95. Just thought I should throw that in.

Thanks for any and all help.

first and foremost, return to stock settings,

Overclocking can cause all sorts of problems. Not worth it IMHO, but to each his own. Regardless, if you OC, and are having issues, the first thing to do is clock back to stock settings. What if you are overclocking the PCI bus, and causing your NIC to freak out?

Thanks for the replies.
I did pull my OC back, but I am pretty sure my mainboard keeps the PCI bus at 33.
Right now it is working ... but just OK. I am pretty sure now that my suspect item is the router.

Thanks again.
