I searched all over the internet and a lot of people are having the same issue as I am; stability. Cannot begin to describe the frustration in trying to fix this thing for months!!

This place always has the best opinions and suggestions, so here I am again. I need a new router!!!

Not to smart when it comes to these things, but:

A. I have high speed internet

B. Have an old man watching international t.v that uses internet to stream and is connected via wire (not very happy when he can't watch it)

C. Also have one family computer that uses internet also hardwired

D. And then comes my PC, hardwired, that's used for gaming, movies, ect.

I know I have very good ISP and an awesome internet box. This ASUS RT-N56U has KILLED me for far too long and has drived me nuts!!! Please recommend me an awesome, stable, router that can deal with high speed and high traffic.

I also forgot to mention wifi is absolutely needed. Lots of laptops can be roaming around. Also have PS3.

So I switched out my router for my very old linksys and all the computers and tv worked fine, BUT mine. I had the same issue of internet cutting in and out constantly. So there must be something wrong with my PC, but I'm really not all that techy (obviously).

When I start up my PC and boot I receive this error code saying something isn't working, but I just ignore it.

I did a search for the error code "something isn't working" but I haven't been able to find any useful information. We need more details. The actual error message would be a good start. 😉

You really should resolve the errors before you worry about getting a new router. However, to start that part of the discussion, what is your available budget for a new router?

Yea, sorry. It seems to just be windows defender. I'm running vista 32 bit.

Both routers seem to work for everyone else, but my PC.

Internet, for me, constantly goes in and out and has been happening for weeks. Some stretches it works fine, then a stretch of bad stability issues. But this is only on my PC. I think I might have a virus. I'm running free anti software (Avira). Really don't know what to do.
