So when i go to start the computer, sometimes the startup screen will come on, and sometimes it wont. I have tried switching the RAM into other slots, and have tried 2 different video cards, and I just cant seem to get any video (or anything at that). I'm running a 2.4ghz athlonxp and have a 300watt powersupply. Could it be the powersupply? Oh yea, I got the motherboard and CPU tested at FRY's, they installed the CPU into the mobo, and also the fan, so i know for sure those are good. (also the RAM)

Intermittent problems are the worst, but try reseating the CPU. I have had to do that two or three times on rare occasions to get reliable connection and startups. Improperly seated AGP video cards and memory can do that too.

Also, what brand is your 300W power supply? The quality and actual capabilities do vary widely across the range from generic cheapies to high-quality ones.

The same applies to RAM. What brand and model of memory modules do you have, if you happen to know?

Some generic ones are all right, does it have a brand on its label that you could run by us? Otherwise, I vote for a nice new 300W or preferably 350W unit from Sparkle Power, Enermax, or Antec, or maybe Heroichi or Enlight. Quality first, wattage second. :) Good luck!
