I'm not entirely sure where the problem is (or if it's only one problem), but here's a description of it:
I recently bought an Abit KR7A-133 Raid mobo, an Athlon XP2000+ cpu and a Sound Blaster Audigy (Gamer) to go with my GeForce 3 (one of the first issue of the GF3's...before the Ti-designation).
I installed Win98SE, installed all the drivers, but the Audigy software refused to see that I had the card installed (and the drivers for that matter...they installed fine (with some cajoling on my part, but the software itself (the environmental audio control stuff) wouldn't install because it said that it couldn't find an Audigy installed on my system). I just moved on figuring I'd figure that out later (which is still the plan).
Anyway, then I installed the two games that I wanted to test out w/the new hardware: Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Quake 3 Arena. I had no problems w/Q3, but when I started up RtCW to run a demo benchmark it loaded the level and immediately locked the system up hard (couldn't ctrl-alt-del or anything...had to reset the machine), I then installed the 6n version of the bios for the board, but no change, I went through some of the settings and found that I couldn't set AGP to 4x, the only available option was 2x...I have NO idea how that happened or why...is it just a bad mobo or is there something I'm missing? It's gotten EXTREMELY frustrating, and quite frankly I'm not sure this is worth the hassle...ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated...feel free to email me with a clue as well. TIA.
