Please help-K7S5A cpu upgrade

I want to upgrade my ECS K7S5a mobo from a Duron 800 to a 1.2 gig Amd thunderbird. Do I just swap out the cpu? (taking all of the proper precautions of course). Will the bios change automatically, or do I have to do something manually to the Mobo?.

Sorry...Sorry...The 1.2 gig is coming out of the K7S5a and going into my FIC AE-11e mobo. The question remains the same...😱
 
THe K7S5A will find the new CPU without you doing anything. Just make sure that the fan is rated to go that high 🙂

Is the 1.2 100 or 133 ( 200/266 ) bus speed? if it is a 133/266 you will have to go into the bios and update the CPU/Memory settings from 100/100 to 133/133.
