Please help! Just got 4400+/DFI up, getting a score of [sic] 900 in memory bandwidth!!

I'm honestly very unsure about what to do.

I know its slow rather than a software issue because I got poor scores in PCMark as well.


System is:

4400+ Dual core
DFI Lanparty SLI-DR mobo
2x1 Gigs Mushkin HP blue
7800gtx

Now this may be relevant; when it is loading the various devices and lists IRQ address the one for memory controller comes up as N/A


Any thoughts on where to begin????

Flash your BIOS?

Is the mobo only reading it as a single core?

yeah, you need at least the 5.10-2 bios. the 6.23 i think are good for x2's also, check dfi.street.

I don't know about X2s, but the 7/4/05 BIOS is great, kept me from tossing this A64 rig out the window.

i hear they're great too but the warning from oskar kinda scared me away from trying them. i wish they'd get a new official one of these days

My bios is version 6

Supposedly it was optimzed by monarch as a combo system, but I didn't buy the memory from them....

Any other suggestions?


My ram is rated at 2.6-2.8 ... its at 2.6 now... should I try increasing the voltage?


BTW I'm pretty sure it's reading the two cores, it shows in windows, sandra, CPUZ etc

reboot and check which bios. its listed in the bottom left on the first post screen.

It scared me too, but I was so frustrated with this system that I really didn't care at that point if I killed my mobo or not!

They work great though and I flashged mine the day they came out... with WinFLASH!!!!

Crazy, crazy, I know, but it was worth it.

Anyways...

I don't think the voltage increase would help by itself.

Are you running 1T, have all your memory timings optimized??

Forget about calling monarch for teceh support. There phone is probably disconnected.

It's bios version 6, made 6/05

I've tried playing with the timings, the most I've gotten it to increase is to 1000 lol

According to benchmarks this ram should be hitting 5000 stock


My POST shows 1T


Any other suggestions?

yeah, well, bios 6 really isn't anything. you should check at post. i'd just get a floppy ready and re-flash it anyway. monarch isn't all that great about their "pre-testing and updating" from what i've seen.

Any suggestions in addition to reflashing bios (in the meantime to re-flashing) ?

My bios IS the latest one offered by DFI's website, but I'll flash it anyway to be sure

I got the Monarch bios too. I upgraded to 6/23-2. Ocs fine.
Monarch is awesome. They set the jumpers for you and everything. I had to do almost no work to setup my rig. Just plug in the ram, plug in the video card, plug in the front speaker/usb, plug in the power, and watch it go.

frackal, if you take a look on dfi.street theres a procedure for flashing with a usb key if you have one.

edit- i forgot, also pershoot makes images of all the bios you can burn and flash that way. same deal, a search should find it. i wish i had it book marked but i guess i never did.
