I recently purchased a computer from someone I've dealt with in the past and had great luck with.

The new system is as follows:

E6600 processor
Gigabyte DS3 mobo
Gskill DDR2800 2 x 1gb sticks (light green/teal in color)
HIS iceQ3 X1900xt
Antec Neo 550w psu
2 x Seagate 250gb HD 7200.10 in Raid 0
Coolermaster Stacker 830 in black

I got the machine three weeks ago and plugged it in and went to power it up, it wouldn't boot. Ended up being the connection on the mobo to the case had come loose no big deal.

Then the computer worked fine for about 3 days.

This is when the trouble began. All of a sudden I booted it up after work and it would post but no video signal at all. Tried a few things , still no good.

So I took up my video card to a local computer shop, they plugged it in their system. Same deal, computer would post but no video.

So I figured the video card went out. I RMAd video card and received the new one today.

Slap it in, reconnect all cables and such. Power it on. This time fans in the system including CPU, Case and Graphics card turn but no post to keyboard/mouse (it would flash keyboard/mouse prior) and again no video at all.

I've tried resetting the CMOS and putting in different RAM , still same thing.

Yes, I do unplug all power connections to the case and board when switching ram, etc.

What the heck do you guys think this could be? Obviously the first video card was bad, but what would be a guess at to what's going on now?

thanks in advance for your opinions.

Check your monitor...
And then see if you can throw your hdd in another machine to check them...
Same for PSU...
Then you only have your mobo and CPU...
And I don't know if you have another mobo that would take your CPU and vice versa...
So hopefully you don't have to test them...
...
..
.

Well, although you would think it's unlikley after you do what elmer suggested, perhaps you should take the video card into the shop again and have them try it on another one of their machines. I hate computer problems like this.

I've checked my monitor, in fact I'm currently using it on my other computer right now as I type.

I checked the HDD, but for the mobo and CPU I don't have a way to check it as I don't have any other gear here to hook it up with.

I plan on taking the card in to another shop, in fact I'm going to bring in the whole system and get their thoughts as I'm out of thoughts. It's possible it could be the board, I just don't see two brand new HIS X1900XT's going bad that quickly. The second one never even brought up the video, at least the first did for a few days.

annoying for sure.
