Please Help!! I need to know if I messed this up.

I just got the P4 2.5ghz and when I installed the chip into the mobo I forgot to pull up the lever on the mobo to unlock the socket and lock it. The chip went in easily and I didn't have to force it in or anything. Should I take the chip out and install it correctly? If i have to take the chip out should i lift the bar up first or just take it out while the bar is down. Thanks a lot.

yes...pull up the locking mechanism before you take the chip out...and then put it back in and lock it...
