Please Help HP P1000 Photosmart, Ink Problem?

I have a HP Photosmart (<-----A marketing gimmick) P1000 Printer. After 4 months of rare usage, the Color Ink won't print Yellow for some odd reason, all colors seems light colored. Checked the cartridge to see if Inks are low but indicator shows it at 55%😕 so I cleaned the cartridge couple times using the self cleaning on printer meanu. Still no go. I then purchase a new high capacity Ink cartridge for a freakin $57.00, Does the same freakin Things :|. Initial prints are always light colored. Could it be a bug with the printer itself? or am I getting bad luck from Ink Cartridges? Anyone had the same problem? or owns a HP P1000 care to comment? Or could this be a driver problem?

Using WinXP PRO with latest driver from HP website. Plugged through USB.
Help would be highly appreciated.

I'm an owner of one of those badboys.
Try cleaning it from the printer menu on the printer itself
Run an alignment print page

Is the black color light as well?
If not, remove the color cartridge and see what the contacts on the catridge harness look like. Make sure there isn't any rust/discoloration.
Re-insert the color cartridge again and run both tests. Do a FULL cleaning (Including PRIME) and see what nets you.
