I don't want to ruin my new CPU...I just bought an ASUS A7V and a Athlon 700 Both Socket A ofcourse. Do I need to be aware of anything special when putting my components together??? I've seen when you buy Barebones that they advertise Tested and Burned. What is Burned???

Burned in would be just that they have the components put together, and run it for maybe 24 or 48 hours, probably stressing it. I don't even know what a current "accepted" burn-in time is. Theory is that generally, if the basic components are going to fail, they will fail during the burn-in period. I would imagine that this cuts down on returns, as marginal product is failed before it is shipped. I don't think I've ever "burned-in" a pc that I've built on my own. Just slap it together and see what happens, cause I want to use it.:)

make sure the multiplier/fsb/voltage settings are correct
make sure your heatsink is flush with the cpu; not too much pressure, not too little
