Please Help! Getting Lock-ups with CLA2 and Irongate Chipset.

Could it be the o/c of my cpu? If I leave my system on for a while doing nothing, I'll come back and its locked up requiring a reboot(via reset switch, Ctrl-Alt-Delete does nothing). Anyone having this problem? It hasn't locked up with games though, only when system is idle. Appreciate any help.

Have you tried running 3dmark, seti, q3 demo loops etc to test the stability of your chip. Not likely, but could be a heat related problem.

Mine is a week old and the screen will go blank, with no O/C in game only after twenty minutes? I have a BH6 300A o/c'ed to 450 for the last year. Looking at getting a C2 566.

I've read the the GeForce1 and 2 doesn't like O/Ced CPUs. I just went into the BIOS and disabled the "power Management/APM." We'll see how that goes.

Are you running at agp 1x, 2x can cause some problems

AGP1x and it locks with or without sidebanding enabled. I'm wondering if my Athlon is just not stable at 700? Although, I never had a lockup at 721 with my V3. WTF, this sucks!

I will change AGP Bus Speed to 1X, by default it's 2X. AGP Sideband Addressing is disable by default, I'll try both, hope the AGP Bus Speed is the ticket. Picked up a CII 566 today hopefully no o/c'ing probs with it. Thanks sd for the faq link and all others that replied, this is a great site, thanks anand.
