I've just got hold of a CL Geforce GTS2 and I don't seem to be able to get agp 4x which both motherboard (Abit KT7-Raid) and video card support. I am using the 6.31 drivers and the only time WCPUID tells I'm getting 4x is when I install the via 4 in 1 driver pack ver 424a but then all my games crash as soon as you get into the action.
At the moment I am without 4in1424a and everything works fine but no x4.
Do I need to reinstall the games after the via drivers or what, I have no idea?

Am I missing out on much because at the moment Wcpuid is saying that I have nothing in the current section of the agp info yet says supported 1x 2x 4x.

What do I do, and is there a definitive answer for this problem?

By the way, I've tried 4x_9x.reg and it doesn't do anything according to Wcpuid.

Just forget about it using fastwrites actualy slows down performance and runing at agp 4x gives .3 fps

Parkie, try the Nvidia drivers(6.31)make sure you install Via 4 in 1 drivers first, also disable fastwrites in BIOS, & hopefully you should be fine for your games,I`ve a MSI K7T PRO & Geforce2 MX which are working great with 4 in 1 drivers(4.24) & Nvidia 6.31 drivers in games.

What are you talking about han888?

Cut'n'paste from my last reply...

<< According to Intel "AGP4X doubles you graphics performance compared to AGP2X, and increases your internet experience while gaining more profit from your dot.com company" >>

that is just a bullsh!t from intel for promote their product, dont be a full by statement! like ata 33 and ata 66, can u feel the different between ata 33 and ata 66?? i think i can not feel that, like 5400 rpm and 7200 rpm hd, i can not feel the different too between that, yeah may be there is a different but it's not different too much

han888 ,I think he is joking with you, anyway in the real world you will get no more then 1 or 2 FPS speed increase at the most from 2x to 4x AGP.

My 4-1 Via drivers didn't install V-gart file when I loaded it.
I am using the VIA 425a drivers. forgot where I got them
I had to go to the file and right click on the V-gart inf. file and click install and whoa I had 4x enabled on my KT7 Raid. I set it for 4x in bios and it now reports 4X in windows.
My 3D Mark score went to 7159 after I did this. Whoohoo

Athlon 1 Gig
Hercules 32meg GF2
196 meg pc 150
Hitachi 753 Superscan
NVidia 6.31 drivers

I hooked this up to a 17" KDS monitor for the hell of it and my marks went down to 6157, so this tells me a monitor with a higher refresh is directly related to 3 D Mark scores. The higher the refresh the better the score. Makes sence to me
