I am looking for a firewire card so I can transfer video from my video camara to my computer. Does the USB firewire work the same way as the firewire card? I would rather get the USB firewire one so I could move it from computer to computer.

Thanks for help

the usb version would be a very bad thing to do, the bandwidth on firewire is much much faster than the bandwidth of usb.

I agree. Get the card because I have a feeling the USB firewire wouldn't work very well due to a backup of data from the slower transfer rate of USB devices.

Get the card.... Firewire to USB is a bad idea 400 Mbits to 12 Mbits........ ewww
now USB 2.0 would have been a different story.... but not todays reality.. :(

Even if I wont be transferring that much stuff it is still better to get the firewire card?

Also does that USB item that I mentioned above transfer video to the computer. The newegg site does not give a good desrcription of what it does.

Thanks so much for all your help!!
