Hey guys,

I found a pentium 400 mhz computer, when I turned it on BIOS was initializing and then it just sort of froze, so I suspecting that it was memory problem, turned off the computer and removed memory, after I turned it on with no memory it wouldn't do anything, VIDEO wouldn't even initialize.

Did anyone have similar experience, that computer is like a paperweight now I don't know how removing memory could screw it up even worse. I mean when I put memory back in it was still dead. I know you probably thinking it was static, but I really doubt it.

Please let me know if you have any ideas!!!

1st.

Check that all components are seated properly! Computer will not post without memory! See that processor, memory and Gfx card are ok. check that the wires from PSU to mobo are also ok.

2nd.

Clear the CMOS (there is a jumper that says "clear CMOS"). Check that the battery on the mobo is ok. Preferably replace it to be sure.

If it still won't boot, then the only option is to check all components 1 by 1 on another computer...
