Please Help: Connecting Mac wifi to Linksys WRT54G

Hello everyone,

I was hoping someone could help me out here. I own a pc and use a linksys wireless USB adapter to connect to my linksys router. I have no problems and my connection flies. My roommate just got a new refurbished macbook pro. We use WEP and he has no problem connecting to the router - the problem though is that his connection speed is crawling.

I am hoping there is someone here who has taken the steps to get the most out of their linksys-mac wireless connection.

Any help is appreciated!

my powerbook just connects, no special settings (i use wpa tho and not wep). i've used linksys and dlink routers, no problems. have you tried disabling wep to see what happens? it shouldn't make a difference but who knows.
