Transfering files from the 98 to the win2k is no problem. With the 2k server, I'm logged in as admin. When I try to get files from the 2k to the 98 machine, it asks for a password. This is the message:

"you must supply a password to make this connection"
"Resource: \\SD2\IPC$"
"Password:

People in a diff thread have told me to go into "users and passwords" in the control panel to set up a user. I don't have that icon in my control panel.

Can anyone help?

I tried setting up a new share with everyone having access and still can't get it going (C is now shared) so another bump for you.

I figured it out. Go start>programs>admin tools>computer management. On the Left you'll see "Local users and groups" hit the + and under you'll see "users." Right click on "users" and select "new user." Put in a user name and a password. Now log in to your other system with that username and pw and you should be able to transfer files from the win2k system to your other one. Works great for me.

I'm sure theres a better way to do this, but this is how I got it to work. Hope this helps 🙂

Create a user & give the user rights to have Remote Access, then share the folder on the server that you want to share with the client.

Or you could logon to the Server from the client puter and use AdminName & Password.
