Hey guys this is my moms scanner and it scans perfect in black or white but not color. I have used the scanner and camera wizard as well as other programs like paint shop pro to try and acquire the images but it will not scan in color with anything that I have tried. She has the paperport 6.0 disc but it is not compatible with XP. Is using the new paperport 8.0 the only way to get this scanner to scan in color?? Thanks and please lmk what you think

Thanks

I have the 7600 parallel port scanner. They won't even supply xp drivers. Thier web page says "It should work with xp". yeah right. It scans a random amount of the page and then resets.

kehi: I found a pain-in-the-butt way to make my scanner work properly. It my work for your mom. I am trying to find out if anyone has an easier way to make this work. Here it is:

1. Start PaperPort, but don't start scanning.
2. Press <ctrl><Alt><Delete> to bring up Task Manager.
3. Click on the "Processes Tab".
4. click once on the process named "PPScanMg.exe" to select it.
5. Right click on it to bring up a menu and select "Set Priority".
6. Set the priority to "realtime".
7. Scan away.
