Please Help! ATA-5 To ATA-100

Hi everyone,
I'm in need of some help that i hope some1 can offer.
I have a DELL laptop that has a Hitachi DK23BA-10 harddrive.

The Harddrive has a ATA-5 interface.

Now the problem. The DELL laptop has a supervisor password (that i don't know) and i can't change the bootup order to boot from anything but 'Primary Harddrive'.
I wish to format the HD with a new OS. And the only way i can think of is by putting it into another laptop (or PC), installing OS, swapping back to the original Laptop.
I have access to a few other laptops but all have an ATA-100 interface. Is there any way i can put the Hitachi ATA-5 HD into these laptops, or can any1 think of a way i can get around the problem.
Are there any adapters, or external interfaces i can use?

Well, if you search google you'll find professional password removal services, utilities to remove BIOS passwords, and lists of default and backdoor BIOS passwords (I think I remember that Dells used to be 'Dell' )

Are you sure, however, that you can't just ask the person you bought the laptop from, or just ring up dell?
