Hey guys. My friend just got finished building his computer. It's an Athlon 700 Slot A on a Biostar M7MKA mobo. When we turned the power on, it goes right to the Biostar splash screen and on the same screen it says "Delete to enter setup, Tab to switch screens, or F9 to select booting device after POST". Nothing happens when you push any of those buttons. I've tried different keyboards and varified that everything was connected OK. There are no lights on the keyboard. I thought maybe it is a bad keyboard port on the mobo. We are trying to partition and format and load on Windows on the new hd, but we can't even get into the BIOS to do anything! Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Clear the CMOS Jumper to reset the bios. If that does not help, and you are certain you have the keyboard and mouse in the right ports, then the KB port is probably dead. This will require RMAing the mobo. (BTW, I have accidentally reversed KB and mice before). :Q

I agree with Wiz...I've seen motherboards/cases where the mouse and keyboard ports have been mislabeled, too, so definitely check that.

Sorry...I forgot to mention that I already tried clearing the cmos. I only plugged the keyboard in and not the mouse...and it's color coded so I'm pretty sure I did it right. Thanks...any other help before I take the RMA route?

Oh...didn't read your post correctly Slik...I'll double check that...but I think I already tried that...thanks.
