PLEASE HELP, ANNOYING PROBLEM

hey guys I need help getting this problem fixed. I have tried everything but cant figure out problem. First of all heres the components to my pc

AMD 1.2
Asus A7V133
Asus Geforce GTS2 deluxe
256mb crucial ram
Quantum 40gb ata100
SB x-gamer

Ok the problem starts when im playing a game, about 10 minutes into counterstrike all of a sudden the game freezes and the sound keeps looping. So far I have updated bios to 1004, installed latest promise drivers, installed via 4in1 4.29v driver, installed detenator 3 drivers. But I still keep freezing for some reason. I tried formatting and doing a clean install but im still getting same thing. I have tried uninstalling via and promise drivers thinking maybe that was the problem but still nothing. I even tried uninstalling detenator3 and using asus7700 graphics driver. I dont think its a heat problem, im using FOP32-1 with arctic silver compound and temp is idle at 50c. Any help is greatly appreciated

might the videocard be getting to hot?
i think the mobo runs everything so freegin hot.. my gts pro on my a7v133 is too hot to touch when playing q3.. and it gets so hot, it actually slows down the performance of my game
also.. did you overclock your system? when i overclocked my fsb too high, it crashed fast

Make sure fastwrites is disabled in bios. Also trying lowering your AGP from 4x to 2x or 1x and see if that helps. Enabling EAX can also be a problem sometimes becuase it takes up a lot of resources, but probably isn't the problem here since you have T-Bird 1.2GHz w/ 256MB RAM. You idle temp is a bit high even for an A7V133 mobo. My 1.0 @ 1.2GHz idles at 46C and full loads at 52C on the same board. Also, are playing CS in Win2000?

I dont think my video card would be getting too hot, I have 2 fans inside case and it does this even when case is open. I didnt overclock system yet, trying to get it stable first before i mess with it. fastwrites is disabled, im going to try 2x right now ill post result. Yeah temp is isnt that good but im waiting for my swiftech hsf to arrive, right now i have a coolermaster on. Im running Win98SE.
