Ok ive scoured all of the info on the A7V266-E and I diddent see the answer to my problem so mabey one of you kind people can help me out here. First let me give you a run down of my system.

AMD XP1900+
A7V266-E
512 Crucial DDR
2 IBM 60GXP 40Gb
GeForce 3 Ti 500
Intel Pro/100+ Management adapter

Now my problem:

Ive gone through and set up the drives as follows. Both jumpers on the drive are set to master. One drive is connected to the Promise IDE1 and the other is connected to Promise IDE2. The mobo jumper is set to raid. Everything in the BIOS is set to defaults. When go to set up XP Pro I get this message before I ever get to the screen where you hit F6 to install a 3rd party driver for the raid array.

Windows XP Professional Setup
======================

Setup did not find any hard disks installed in your computer.

Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk relatiated hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufactureer supplied diagonostic or setup program.

Setup can not continue. To quit press F3.

Any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Thanks for any help you can give

I'm not sure your BIOS 'defaults' are what you want it to be set to. Certainly there should be some RAID options in there. Is there a RAID config utility that pops up if you let the PC load without a CD. You need to have your arrays set before you install.

Ive looked throught the BIOS and i see no setting for the raid aray in there. When the RAID bios comes up on the screen it tells me that the array is functional and bootable but Windows don't see it.

Assuming you have no data on the disks I would advise you to do a low-level-format on both disks, well that's where I would start.
Just download IBM DRIVE-FITNESS-TEST software and follow the instructions. And connect the disks to the regular IDE-ports, otherwise DFT won't work if I'm not mistaken.

Maybe someone can provide a link, I can't access their support area :confused:
