Please give me some ideas for good foods that can be shipped.

For example, if I want Baklava, I would have to drive 200+ miles to get it. Edamame or sushi, probably further. Rally's burgers, 600 miles. Artichokes, 60 miles. And so on and so forth.

Are there any sites that cater to misplaced foodies like myself? Maybe something similar to Omaha steaks that ship all over with dry ice?

Also looking for recommendations on what might be more geographic favorites, like the Pennsylvania hard pretzels, philly cheese steaks, Chicago dogs, etc that might be able to ship.

(I'm hungry right now)

You ony live around 200 miles from Lincoln, Nebraska where you can get most of anything you wanted to eat.

yum.

I linked to Lou Malnati's pizza, however Gino's East is damn good too.

Also I would buy a Portillos chicago dog kit, and a portillo's italian beef kit (portillos beef + mozzarella + sweet or hot peppers is AWESOME).

have you considered cooking? i hear it's a good way to make what you can't find in a restaurant near you. Is there a grocery store? we have grocery stores here, even though i have to drive a bit to get to a good one.
Or, have you considered living off the land?

Thanks to those that have given links to good stuff :)

Beef, alternator sized and larger is easy to come by. I buy it by the half cow (half of beef) and we do the same with pork. We cook. Two restaurants in town, a pizza place and a family run cafe and we do that < once a month. We do have a Schwan's truck that comes once a week, but it's mostly standard fare, things we can cook ourselves for 1/4 of the cost.

I'm looking for ethnic or regional foods that are not common the world over. Any time I travel for business, these are the places I seek out, Mediterranean, japanese, etc. I also make it a point to see if Guy Fieri has been through any towns on our route and we stop there and eat.

OP: what do you do that has you living *there* and travelling elsewhere? and is the pizza place a pizza hut?

hey now, he said they have two restaurants in his town, thats 2 more then we have. Downtown in my town we got a gas station, a volunteer ems and fire department and a self storage building. we can't even spot a place to eat.
