Hi all,

Hope someone can give me some good advice. I have an off the shelf Dell XPS with an i5 2320 to which I added a HD7770. I am currently using my old monitor at 1440 x 900.

My question is: Would I be better off for gaming to upgrade to a 1080p monitor and run at reduced settings in some games, or stick with the current monitor at higher settings? If I run at 1080p would I have a bigger field of view in games, or would it just show the same area with more pixel density? (Hope I explained this last question adequately). For productivity spreadsheet type work, I know 1080p if far better, but I really dont do much work at home, mostly gaming and internet.

Upgrading the video card is not an option, as I just purchased this one. I was attracted by the very low power usage and final price of 89.99 after rebate. Perhaps I should have gone for a HD7850, as I believe the XPS power supply could handle it, but done is done, and I cant upgrade the card for a year or two.

Thanks for any advice.

For only gaming and internet keep this monitor . Run at higher game settings. that would always provide a better experience.
