Are you talking about nested quotes or quoting multiple posts at once? That's not he same thing. (And IMHO nested quotes are a waste of space, you only need to quote the most recent post, you dont need to have every single post inside your quote)

Two levels of nesting would be better than one level, and would be better than unlimited levels.
I don't know what you guys are talking about. ()![]()
I agree. I think 2 or 3 would be fine but 1 isn't good.

So do mods have automatic multi-level quoting or did you do that by hand?

It's fine if you are quoting directly above you, it gets annoying when its the 94th reply which quotes the 17th and you have to scroll back and forth trying to find it...
and apparently I fail at nesting...
How about we just learn to use what we have? It's not like it can't easily be done.
Neither do I!I don't know what you guys are talking about. Let's leave it as is so that idiots can't quote over 9000 people at once. If you're keeping up with the thread, you don't need multiple quotes for context.
What about the people that don't live here and run into threads that already have 100+ posts in it? It makes it a confusing mess for those people to sort things out.
Maybe they have to use their brain and do some reading.
If it's absolutely necessary, it's still possible to quote more than one person with a tiny bit of effort, but enough to dissuade the crettins that mash the QUOTE EVERYTHING LOL button without thinking.
It's about usability. If it can be made easier then why not? Personally I never found the nested quote in FuseTalk to be that big of an isssue.
AFAIK, the nested quote/fusetalk issue was one of performance. Too many nested quotes would slow down the thread or break the forum or something.
VB should be able to handle this -- I hope? The forums are becoming a confused/frustrating mess right now.
Okay, I can agree with that, but definitely no more than two levels.

Does anybody care if you agree or not......
No more than two....you don`t make those decisions.....do you....
Secondly it is very easy to copy and paste qoutes from other parts of the thread if needed.
Thus this whole thread is total fail!!
Just my opinion!
People keep bringing this up, but that's irrelevant. Our complaint is made as readers. Yes I can easily do nested quotes, but it doesn't make it easier to read other people's posts if they don't do the same thing. Unless it's automatic nobody's gonna bother with it.
edit: Looks like VBulletin doesn't have this feature by default: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?298650-Nested-Quotes&highlight=nested so I guess this whole discussion is kinda moot (yeah I know there are plugins but that's extra work).
