I was always under the impression that we were allowed to have an active wtb and an active fs thread at the same time, am I mistaken? It certainly wouldn't be the first time I would be wrong, I was curious and wanted to be sure so I wouldn't do it anymore as I have been doing that

The way I read that is that we are allowed to have both but I was told that is not the case, just want to be certain

I kind of makes sense just to have one. If you bump both your FS and WTB threads it does knock others threads down two notches.

It is allowed, lots of posters on the FS/T first page are doing so. I suggest posting in Mod Discussions.

In all reality, you are allowed to have ONE thread but we've been letting it slide because it hasn't been a large issue. As more and more people make two, and now sometimes three or more, it may be an issue but we are currently evaluating and considering a rule rewrite. It is likely everyone will be advised (via sticky, etc.) before if anything should change.

How about having a you can only bump one thread every 4 hours rule. So even if you have a wtb and a wts thread you can bump one but you have to wait 4 hours after your last bump to bump the other. That way we don't have 2 threads knocking other peoples threads down at the same time.

That would be almost impossible to enforce.
