Please don't tell me your son, daughter, nephew, or niece can't be a murderer

Text

I wish people would stop thinking its impossible for this to be the case and it always has to be a known serial killer or someone who has just got out. To me those are bad but not as bad as these because they do it once and they are very stupid. Yes I know this is rare but still.

Well lets say this was one of your family members that did this what would you want happen to them ? Would you be ok with the death penalty ? Would you visit them in jail or during the death penalty ?

Anyone could kill in the right situation. The difference we call murder is another name for non sanctioned killing. A mother given access to a weapon when her children are in immediate life threatening danger from an assailant will kill to protect. However, most people would not call this murder.

That is not murder. That is self defense. Huge difference. Though sometimes if you kill a robber even in self defense you can still be considered doing wrong.

I thought that is what I said. There is always a moral component to all killings. It is my belief that there is a time for killing (morally wrong or not).

How can you say that ? Some of these murderers seem to just kill to kill which is sad and stupid.

I thought this was an example of cognitive dissonance, but it is probably more along the lines of denial.

I think most people would be guilty of this initially. The mental ones would hold onto the fantasy longer than the sane.
