Sorry to moan but can people in these forums not call the Union flag the Union Jack. The jack part refers to the Union flag when it is used on a ships mast.

p.s. I have seen some of my designs on UK machines, but I want to know when they are going to bring out the thermobaric weapons

I understand your point - but it is (very) popularly known as the Union "Jack" in the UK. If some one asked me about the Union flag I'd have thought they were talking about the American civil war.

BTW, what is the second line of your post all about?

Cheers,

Andy

Even as an idiot American I know the source of the term Union Jack was derived from its maritime use, and I have to agree with you that simply calling it the Union flag will also bring me to immediately think of the American Civil War. Besides, I like the term Union Jack; it's popular with me too. :)

Even one of your countrymen in describing the unfortunate A-10 attack on British troops called it that:
"It's about 18 inches wide by about 12 inches. For him to fire his weapons I believe he had to look through his magnified optics. How he could not see that Union Jack I don't know."

Not since 1916 . . . ;)

The UK really doesn't want the North but are "stuck" with them.
