I recently built my own system, consisting of an Asus A7V MB and some other parts (320 RAM, Athlon 1GHZ etc.)on a Windows 98 SE Platform. Anyways, the problem is installing my modem. First off, my system is butter. No problems thus far. But, my comp detects my Modem as a PCI Serial Device and prompts me for a PCI Serial Device Driver. I do not know what to do from here. It does not allow me to use my modem drivers at this point. It is a US Robotics 56K modem, and it worked as well as any modem on my last comp. However, even if I somehow get past installing the "PCI Serial Device" driver and manually install my modem, it does not work. Can anybody help? I haven't had my own internet for almost 2 weeks and I am going insane
. well, not really. I was on a University LAN up untill 2 weeks ago, and now it is modem time untill september.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
