Two pieces of wood clamped together, sandwiching the vinyl in between. Attach hooks to the wood and hang.

We would prefer something pre-made.

Why can't you put holes in it? I imagine you aren't going to find a lot of premade solutions because everybody just uses a few grommets.

This is a office/work project...so Germany.

"Hey GTaudiophile, put a push-pin in China."

Um..on topic, why not just put a couple nails in the wall, then clip a couple binder clips or bulldog clips to the map and hang them on the nails. Either that, or some of those 3M Command adhesive pads would do the trick and be removeable.

If you knew how much it cost...you wouldn't want to put holes in it either.

It's a beautiful creation, especially made for us, by the world's oldest commercial map maker, the Klett Verlag.

I was thinking you could just put it up with wallpaper paste. You can always take it down later if necessary with a bit of work.

if it was expensive enough not to want to make holes I don't imagine that this would work either.

Though if it was expensive enough not to make holes, making the wood frame thing would be what I would probably go with. If you hire someone else to do it, it is sorta premade? :p

If it's that important, then frame it.

Yeah, if it's something exceptionally high quality or must be preserved, frame it.

Otherwise, I've used large size binding clips hung on nails to hang large vinyl maps (though admittedly temporarily).

Suggestions on where to get such clips?

screw some steel plate into the ceiling and get some rare earth magnets to clamp it up there. use as many as you need to keep it from sagging.

How about calling them then?

Possible to take a pic or two of said map? Would be interesting to see it.

This is about your best suggestion short of getting it completely framed. Have a carpenter put something together for you so it looks nice.

Using anything else like clamps and such will likely cause the vinyl to stretch and/or weaken and eventually tear at those points if this is long term.

I don't know how much they cost you, but I know how much they cost us to make. How much did you pay for that thing?

Also, for banners that big, there isn't really many ways to hang it other than grommets. Pics of the banner and where you want to hang it would help.
