I have an OCZ drive that's failing but the store is reluctant to do the RMA because it still *appears* to work.

Any way I can finish this thing off so I can do a legit RMA?

Grrr.... POS!

Edit: I'll just have to keep trying to RMA this crapping-out drive without trying to do anything more to MAKE it fail. I bought the store extended warranty so I wouldn't have to deal with this crap but they're giving me the run-around. :(

I was worried it might be interpreted that way.

It's already failing... maybe I can find a sales flunkie who is willing to test it for more than a minute and do my exchange. (Not a return, an exchange!)

As far as I can tell, if the drive is failing, you should RMA to OCZ if the store wont take it. However, you have not stated how it is failing in any detail. What is it doing? Maybe we can help.

Let me know if you want this thread locked still.

as much of a pain in the ass ocz drives are reliably, their rma department will actually take care of you. they won't even put you through rigorous testing before finally approving it. they know their drives have major controller issues and don't even question it.

Yeah, go ahead and wipe it out. Instead of dealing with the store, I'll try their RMA department directly.

Sometimes the drive is just PAINFULLY slow and other times it just stops and gives me some kind of disk write error. 80-90% of the time it works fine.

BTW, that's for a FRESH Win7 or XP install so it's not a messed-up OS issue.
