What kind of whack OS class is this?
My OS class was about memory management and queues and device drivers....I'd say asking about UFS and OS-specific commands is a bit too focused.
And the difference between slower multi-processors and faster uniprocessors is more of an architecture question....(eyes up 4x55MHz Sun next to him).

Anyway...you should be able to track down many of the answers on the web. Sorry, but the ones I know, I'm not gonna help you with. You need to learn this stuff--you're only cheating yourself.

Lin, how about you actually study. It wont do you any good to have the answers served up to you on a plate. What you need to do is give your opinion and be able to defend it. You wont go past help desk in IT if you can't do that. This is relatively easy stuff, do yourself a favour and figure it out.

You're going to need to know the answers from your own knowledge. Why not provide your answers with the questions, and we can tell you which are right, and which are wrong without giving you the answers. You probably need to know this stuff anyway.

NO offense but what you're doing is considered cheating...HEAVY cheating. Take home tests are based on the honor system...and frankly you're violating that honor in every sense possible. I know some of the answers already but I REFUSE to tell you. You should be able to figure this out on your own WITHOUT cheating, otherwise you don't deserve a C...much less an A.

consider yourself lucky - in my OS class - we have to MAKE and original OS!!!!!!! My CS dept. is run by programming nazis. In the assembly class i just finished i had to write an x86/assembly emulator in java ( THAT was hard. It was like 25,000 lines of code. That test is a snap by comparison. At least TRY it yourself before asking for help.

Well, it was supposed to be a general guideline, not the complete answer. If he asked for information on WWII, i'd mention some of the battles and who won them, but wouldn't write his whole essay for him.

Also: I didn't see that this was a take home test. I thought he was studying for his final. No more help for you.

The problem is that it is a take home final...and by him asking he's putting everyone else at a disadvantage not to mention he's the reason most professors don't give take home finals anymore...there simply isn't enough integrity left in the world =P
