My brother brought over his computer for me to fix. MSI BXMaster board, C566 OC'd, 256 sdram, GF2mx. He just replaced the power supply, after the machine quit. New power supply, now it doesn't post. The board's getting juice, and all the D-LED lights come on. I've tested every drive and card, one by one, on another machine. RAM tests out fine, CPU tests out fine. He claims nothing was changed on the board when he replaced the PS. I've gone over the board, everything's plugged in properly.

Now, this board has 4 D-LED lights for diagnostic purposes. They come on green, red, green, red (except no beep, like there should be). The manual indicates a VGA problem. So I tried another VGA card, same problem. Okay, here's the mystery: There is another LED named LED1 between the AGP slot and the first DRAM slot, and it's red. There's nothing in the manual about this LED1, and I can't find anything about it online.

I'm guessing something's wrong with the AGP slot. Does anyone have any experience with this old board?

I'd try a PCI video card to test the board first...If that works at least you know it's ok and you can narrow it down to the possible bad AGP slot. But I'm not a pro...but I've had the same experience before...good luck
