That's a good choice on a budget. I used Viewsonics for years and only had problems with one I ever owned. (out of three)

I'm partial to the Mitsubishi/NEC 930sb and the Hitachi CM721F. Both run just under $300

I have used a Samsung Syncmaster 753DF Dynaflat for the last 3 years and it has a nice sharp picture.

I just bought a new 19-inch Samsung Syncmaster 955DF Dynaflat to replace the 17-inch (which is still fine BTW) cause I wanted a bigger picture, and CRT monitors are becoming scarce in the stores now - but I prefer a CRT for gaming - no screen resolution issues, blah blah. I bought mine for $180 after rebate.

my 22" NEC MultiSync is amazing.....it's just so heavy, almost regret getting it. Although it makes a big statement at LAN's, there's a bigger statement made when 3 of us carry the monster in. :(
