Hi,
Finally after much research I have decided to get the following rig
It's primary used for gaming for the next few years. So what are your comments? Ya think there can be any more improvements to this rig(within the same price budget of course)

1xAMD 64 3500+ CPU
1xABIT AN8 Motherboard (nF4 Ultra chipset)
2xCorsair PC3200 512MB RAM Dual Channel Kit
1xLeadtek or Gainward 6800GT 256MB RAM
1xCreative Audigy ZS
1xWD SATA 80GB HDD
1xBenQ 1620Pro
1xASUS 16X DVD-ROM
1xAntec NeoPower 480W
1xSuper LANBoy Casing(I'll take Antec P180 if it releases by Mar 05)

Ya think this rig will last? I know computer tech updates itself damn fast, but I'm still counting on it to last.

everything looks cool, but just to verify its total of 1gb RAM right? otherwise, its not enough. I think the rig will last for a couple of years (as a gaming rig), with some OC'ing, and maybe you'll put a better cpu eventually (like when fx-55 becomes cheap...)

Yep, it's 1GB RAM total (edited it to make it clearer).

Btw will increasing RAM to 2GB(2 pcs of 1GB sticks) help to increase performance.
Cos I want this rig to weather through the next OS overhaul, i.e. Longhorn.

Right now, no it will not help unless you do some serious video editing. I have 2GB just because I couldnt find anything else in my system to upgrade.

Nice system but you may want a bigger hard-drive or 2. Ditch the 80 GB for a 200 GB and use the 80 GB for file storage such as drivers and such that you don't want to lose.🙂
