How does she look? Any last minute suggestions? I've been so torn over so many things...like 1GB vs. 2GB and Venice vs. SanDiego... x800xl vs. 6800GT. NEC vs Pioneer. if I should give the onboard sound a try or just pickup a Audigy... Anyways this is her, thanks for your time.

since you have the sli board i would recommend a stronger psu. dfi recommends at least 480watts and native 24 pin. the new video cards from nvidia are gonna require some power especially if you plan on running two in sli mode. if i were you i would get the 600watt power stream so you wont be cutting it close when the new vid cards come out.

dfi is saying its required now

I do the following
- program using VS .NET
- Play World of Warcraft (why I was looking at 2GB of RAM, the game uses so much)
- surf the internet
- listen to music
- play misc other games for a while when they come out (Doom3, HL2) although right now WoW is taking up pretty much all my gaming time.

Thx for the comment about the PS, I was unaware of that...looking for others now.

Switched the powersupply to this:

Not sure, but doesn't the Powerstream have more stable rails than the modstream?

Switch the Lanparty SLI to the Lanparty Ultra-D. You can mod it to "fake-SLI" mode which works just as well. Forgot where that article is though...

I would do that, but there is an Instant rebate from where I am ordering that makes it within $10 price difference.

I don't really understand the point of SLI unless you're getting 2 cheaper cards (like two 6600s).

Judging from your build, by the time you could afford another 6800 to put in there, the G70 or whatever will be out. This probably isn't the thread to debate the usefulness of SLI, but I'm just thinking you could save about 50-70 bucks dropping down to a regular Ultra-D NF4 DFI.

You didn't read his last reply, did you?
