As you can see, I'm going more for quality than performance. I think i've done a good job. You guys have helped a lot as well 🙂

I'm missing ram up there, because I'll just take a stick of pc2100 256 megs from this PC. save me $100 🙂. I'll take sound card and speakers from this PC as well.

Anything screwey? I'm going to buy the parts next friday when I go to vancouver.

Everything looks good except for the video card... the Radeon 8500LE 128MB (~$195) might be a better deal instead...

I think that yes you have done a good job but the way I understand that you are getting the retail box CPU. Since you are why not just use the stock fan. It will be fine unless you are gonna overclock (which i think you want since you are not going for performance.)

agreed with Jmmsbnd007, a bigger harddrive would be nice. But thats just me, I use a lot of space, with mp3s alone i would almost max out your whole 40gb drive.

I would consider getting a different brand dvd rom (lite-on) if its cheaper. Also, I'd probably stick with the retail hsf unless I was going to overclock.

Or... go with the OEM cpu and use the volcano. Then, if you change your mind later about o/c, you can buy some better memory.
