I posted a thread a few hours ago asking for help because uTorrent was using near 100% CPU and switching to BitTornado did not help. Now I am realizing that many other non-torrent programs are also performing very slowly/hogging a lot of resources. Something is definitely not right. Here is the log:

Is there anything there that shouldn't be there? This is driving me nuts!

honestly, i don't see anything out of the ordinary in that list.

which processes, specifically, are using up 100% of the CPU?

The first program I started having trouble with was uTorrent, which prompted me to switch to BitTornado. BitTornado also used 100% CPU. Then I started to unrar a ~2 gb file and it wasn't even to 25% after 20 minutes. That's when I started to think that it could be a virus of some sorts. But as I type this message I have only Firefox open and a few other windows and CPU usage is at 100%. The process that is hogging all of the CPU is called SYSTEM IDLE PROCESS

System idle process should be hogging all the CPU Usage. Do not look in processes tab, use the performance tab to monitor CPU usage. System idle process is just the process that cpu uses to consume empty cycles.

my mistake, ignore the part about system idle process...but here is a picture of what happens when I start uTorrent, BitTornado, and most other applications besides firefox. This particular picture is from when I started up UTorrent:

http://pics.bbzzdd.com/users/cheeks/performance.JPG

As soon as I double-click the icon the computer practically locks up and goes straight to 100% CPU usage and it doesn't go down until I close the program.
