Hello all again. A friend of mine has asked me to construct for him a HTPC. I may not currently have all the answers, but hopefully have enough.
I haven't seen what he has yet, but I'm lead to believe that he would like to use his current case. I am unsure what kind of power supply he currently has, so I have assumed he will need a new one. The pc will be outputting to a projector to display on a 102" screen. He is also currently using dolby 7.1 for his audio (have not seen the setup yet).
Here is what I have so far:
Asus E-350
Corsair 430W
Spinpoint
Blu-ray optical
RAM?
Just in case I don't like his case, I'd like to suggest this case.
His budget is under $500 CAD, currently the products I've suggested add up to around 325 (excluding case). In terms of an OS, he's an OSX kind of guy so I'm going to suggest that he run some distro of linux to save him some cash.
