my computer seems to get slower the longer its on.

if i run 3dmark03 right after startup i get 5103

if i run it about an hour later i get 5080

if i run it after about a few hours i get 5020

is there any real reason why my cpu seems to slow down???
its a barton 2800+ overclocked to 2.31Ghz.
vcore is 1.75~1.77v

that really puzzling.. 😕 thats never happened to me before, usually mine gets a little faster and hotter

i have 512mb of corsair xms

even if i overclock the cpu to 2.38 there is no affect at all on my score in 3dmark03

any suggestions??

3dmark03 is more dependant on the video card
if the score ain't going up then i'm thinking the video card is now the bottle neck in your system.

are you doing anything on the computer between the tests? i.e. surfing the net?

i dunno about the guys that thought it was strange, but don't you notice the computer slows down the longer it's on when your actually using it?

i think part of the problem is how memory is handled, Windows XP does a good job but there still are memory leaks. I'm not all that technical so i dunno about other potential setbacks.

I think it's pretty normal that the score goes down, i've had several hundred point differences with 3dmark03 by restarting the computer
