Drywall anchors, maybe? Or lots of 3M Command Adhesive strips, those things are da bomb. 😀 Put a guitar mount on my wall with 4 of those babies.

Drywall anchor are great, at least the type that have a wing that expands inside the wall. I put up a set of shelves at work that easily hold a hundred pound, WITH NO STUDS! 🙂

I have 2 18" oak shelves with crown molding (making them sort of heavy) in my apartment and I just used small nails, as long as you don't put too much weight on them, they should be fine. It would be nice to find the studs, then you know for sure it will stay up. You can either use a stud finder or just look for nails in the baseboard. That sometimes works.

Oh, you also need the tooth shaped things nailed into the back of the shelves, I don't know what they're called.

L-brackets and hollow wall anchors. Home Depot/Lowes has about a hundred different kinds.

They make these new anchors, they look like big, plastic screws, with a sharp tip. You actually push/screw the thing into the wall, then screw the screw itself into that.

You screw one side of the L-brackets to the underside of the shelf, then you screw the L-bracket into the wall, via the anchor you put in the wall, above.

DO NOT screw directly into the sheetrock without using an anchor; it will rip out as soon as you put any weight on it!
