Pleasantly surprised by "Sky High"

I was looking for something "family friendly" to watch with my son so I downloaded Sky High off of Vongo (14-day free trial). He loves super hero stuff (he wants to go see the Ghost Rider movie) so I thought a cheapo Disney super hero film would be worth a shot.

The story is cliche'd while taking twists on super hero conventions but it is targeted towards kids so no biggie. However, appearances by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead), Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall), Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman), Cloris Leachman, Kevin McDonald (Kids in the Hall), and Kurt Russel as the overzealous super hero Dad totally made this movie. Without them, it would have been just alright...kind of meh.

Was kind of neat to stumble upon a "family friendly" non-cartoon movie that I can watch with my kids that didn't leave me cringing.

Yes, it was fun if you kept your expectations reasonable and weren't expecting either Batman Begins or Mystery Men.
