I ordered a Dell x50v from dell.com for under 400 dollars (stupid Illinois has tax) on January 1st. When I got my email, it said the ship date was Jan. 11th. I was like, WTF. So I emailed them, and asked why the ship date was so late. They emailed me back and said that the product was in high demand and that it takes time to make them from the factory. However, they were concerned about my satisfaction and upgraded my ground shipping to next day business delivery for FREE! Well, I just got an email today saying that they have shipped my order on Jan. 2nd (Sunday). I should be receiving it today, I think. (Is that what Next Business Day delivery means?)

glad things worked out well for you. My personal experience with Dell's CSR's has been much different and after the last fiasco, I will most likely never order from them again.

Let me guess: You define 'fiasco' as trying to exploit such a riduculously low price and got pissed when they wouldn't ship it to you, since it was obviously being sold at a massive loss?

Hmm....apparently after checking the UPS tracking number, my order has a rescheduled delivery date of Jan. 5th.

An article came out last year that talked about how Dell was going to quit fulfilling orders demanded by the ~1% of its customers that would exploit various loopholes (coupons stacked on rebates, etc) that would cause them to sell products for big losses. All the Fat Walleters and ATHDers threw up a hissy fit, but it just makes common sense if you are Dell - these people do not inspire brand loyalty, so you hurt nothing but not fulfilling their orders anyways.

Same thing happened with my 2001FP :D

Plus I had to get my laptop serviced. Only took about 30 minutes and the guy came out the very next day, replaced my laptop LCD with a brand new one even though the LCD was fine. Replaced the keyboard as well as the casing. Excellent service!

Did you get a customer satisfaction survey via e-mail? If it was a legit complaint, then you could complain via the survey (if you got one).

My most recent experience was very good. Got a bad LCD monitor and they exchanged it quickly.

It was the Dell Elf promotion, the promotion is over but the codes are good until the 5'th I think, the coupon was for 25% off an axim, since they already had 15% off for the sale the coupon just gave an extra 10% off
