Pleasae explain DSP. I cannot understand the

terminology used re- 3 phase and 6 phase power. The output from the power supply to the motherboard is DC. The words "phase" and "DC" do not mix. DC has no phase.

So when Giga says their DPS changes the three phase power on the mobo to six phase power, what the heck are they talking about??? Any links to tech papers explaining either three phase powered mobo's or ones that explain, in detail, how the DPS works.

I have read numerous articles that say that it creates six phase power to a three pahse power mobo Not one explains in any circuitry manner what they are talking about. I'm a retired Electronic Enginner and I'll be d----ed if I can understand phase with regard to DC.

They're referring to the way their switching voltage regulators work. Perhaps they should call it 3 stage voltage regulation. The linked article was written to be understood by the electronic neophile, but you will get the point.

DC current has no "phase" in and of itself, in terms of a waveform. However, the term "phase" can be used to describe how a number of DC devices modulate, distribute, or manipulate current and signals. "Pulse" should probably be used in place of "phase" here, not that "phase" isn't accurate, but to avoid confusion with terms long used in AC power.
