Playstation2 VGA converter, any suggestions?

I am thinking of running a PS2 alongside my PC to save on some space, plus not irritate my fiance by using the "good" TV for gaming when she wants to watch something. I was just curious what you guys/gals have to suggest. I also have an X-box and Gamecube that I may do the same thing with, but as for now just the PS2.
 
Don't get one, they're expensive and aren't really useful for much. Get a TV tuner for 75-100 and a decent pvr program like WinDVR(<-no lag).
 
Yep definitely get a TV tuner card. I'd recommend the Hauppauge PVR-150 or PVR-250 depending on your budget.
 
Don't go TV tuner, for the love of god, the picture will make you eyes bleed
And to the geniuses recomending PVR150s and 250s, the MPEG encoder introduces lag

Get HD cables for your PS2, and a NextVision N5
 
be careful about the tuner choice. I've read that many of the newer cards (that have builtin MPEG2 encoders and MCE compatible) have a rather large delay (in the neighborhood of a copule of seconds) which could make gameplay next to impossible.

I got an older WinTV Plus card for this reason. there is no lag. image quality isn't that great but hey it's just PS2 right
 
I see the NextVision N5 has component inputs, that's cool. I was considering the tuner cards because of the ability to record TV. <stupid question> Is there a way to use the N5 to record TV with software or something?? </stupid question>
 
My ATI TV Wonder Pro that I got a while back on sale for $50 is pretty good. You have to select a good codec and use something like intervideo's mpeg for timeshifting but the picture is great when its properly set up (sucks when it isn't) and I play dreamcast all the time on it with WinDVR. the ATI MMC, beyond tv, etc all have lag but WinDVR is great.
