Are u trying to backup PS1 games or PS2?

With PS1 games programs like CloneCD or Nero will backup the games fine...

With PS2 I dont think you can back games up unless you have a DVD writer... cuz all PS2 games are in DVD...

Both PS1 and PS2 will require a mod chip for bypass the security on the discs... There are tons for sale on the internet, so just search around and I am sure you will find lots...

However as stated above, all this is illegal...

Actually, as far as I know, the PS2 doesn't even have one DVD game as of yet. Developers are using CD's.

Mod chips came in 2 diferent forms for the playstation. 1 was a little card you could plug in the back of the playstation(not illegal) it alowed for cheats, playing all the movies on the disk without playing, etc. 2 is something they install on the circuit board(illegal).

the plugin for the ps1 is easier than the other one which requires you to take the psx apart. and I believe there is a bootcd for the ps2 so it doesn't require a mod chip. <shrugs>
