Playstation Store questions

It it just me or is the browsing in the PS store horrible?

I mean to buy songs for rockband you add one to the cart ... go back to the store than have to fumble threw the awful browser all over again to get another song. Then after you buy a song and DL it ... it doesnt even tell you which songs you have installed. Just remove the download button once its done!

Rant over for now....
 
Its pretty bad...

It seems that since Sony owns several major movie studios and record labels that they could sell / rent loads of content over the PSN. Buying NetFlix and locking / integrating their Watch Instantly service into the PSN would greatly help as well.
 
I've never been a fan... didn't realize the dislike was so widespread.

That may be in the works for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
 
Are you aware the L1 will return you to the previous page?

The store doesn't bother me. Then again, I don't download much stuff so I rarely have to go past the first page.

Yes. The navigation and organizational structure is just so much better on Xbox Live Marketplace.
 
I don't mind it so much. Its nice and simple, really easy to get to exactly where you want (just go to view all - alphabetical order). One thing I like about the ps3 online store is that it tells you everything about it. For example, when I was at a friends house, he just bought Rock Band, and was looking at the downloadable content, not only did marketplace look busy (to me at least), you had to wait for the information to scroll down to see what was included on the track packs. I guess I could be wrong and there is a shortcut to see the text faster, but it sucked waiting 20 seconds for it to scroll and see what you needed to read.

I agree for the most part, but I don't like the fact that there is no overall "New" list for Live. You literally have to go to each section and select "New". PSN has that list of newly released items, plus the "Featured Items" are basically all the new items as well. It's much easier to check the new content on PSN, IMO.

Overall, I have no major problem with the PSN store. Using the back button makes navigation pretty easy.

Is Live different? I thought it just put a check mark next to stuff you've previously downloaded... which doesn't even really tell you whether or not it's still installed. Also, there's a download history in the PSN.

They have a page that lists all new stuff now. What I don't like about that page (on XBLM) is when you select a game, it ONLY shows you the new stuff for that game. I'd rather see the whole list and then have the new stuff highlighted or something. That's one of the things I like a lot more about XBLM than PSN - downloads are organized by game. Themes, pictures, demos, add-on content, everything all in the same place.
 
Oh, one more thing .... Would it be so hard to have a sample of the DLC for Rockband (or GH if it doesnt all ready) With all of the random DLC they are throwing out here ... most people have no idea what this crap is. Maybe thats why ... if we could sample it they know we wouldnt want it.

Just go to Youtube and search for the song title. You'll almost definitely get the music video for the song.

I'd love to be able to sample songs. It's too much work to youtube everything. I've been watching the videos each week and and marking down the ones I want for later.
 
Yes, it's awful. I had a hell of a time just finding "Calling All Cars"

Finding the GH songs was easy but aggravating that you have to go through the whole process for every item you add to your cart
