Can anyone tell me if mod chips can be installed in all of the PlayStations consoles? My friend has told me that they can only be installed in the older, original PlayStation, not the new mini PS or the PS2. They will only work in the original PS. Is she right??

Yes, there are mod chips for all models of PS and PS2.
I prefer Chipzone.com but any of the other 1000 stores online that sell the same product should be able to help you out. I've just had personal experience with these guys and they're good.

The brand new PS2 are probably not going to be easy. You'll be luck to find any installation guides for the version 5 board. It just hit the market a couple weeks ago, and while reports suggest that alternate solder points have been found and work, I've yet to see a diagram of where they are. But, I'd say that wont last long...probably just double checking the points on the new boards.

Also, I haven't heard whether or not the new PS2 v5 board will read the GameShark disc. I know when the last version 4 board (date code "1C") came out, it was unable to read the current GameShark at the time. InterAct has since put out a new version that is compatable.

I feel a lock coming on.... ;)

Just a hint: you're not supposed to be discussing illegal activities on AT. Anything relating to WaReZ is usually locked pretty quickly. Especially if the title is "I just installed WinXP Corporate - it ROxxors!! :D".

And yet, people are allowed to discuss what programs they use to steal mp3s and what mp3s to steal.
