Monoprice sells 6ft HDMI cables for as little as $3.56.

That's what you should buy (assuming it's long enough). At 6 feet or less there will be no difference between this cable and the highest-quality cable on the face of the planet. Even with a cable as long as 35 feet, you're very unlikely to notice any difference in quality. Here's a link to a recent HDMI thread in the AV forum.

Definitely monoprice. Super fast shipping, no shipping price gouging, great quality cables. If I could marry monoprice.com, I would.

Just make sure to read the descriptions closely. It's easy to accidentally order an in-wall HDMI cable instead of a normal shielded one.

When ordering you might want to get a few. If it's under 2lbs it seems you have to pay more for shipping. First time I had odered a HDMI cable and a VGA/sound cable. The VGA turned out to be too short, it wasn't worth the shipping to return it. I ordered a longer cable but it seemed like it didn't hit the weight limit since shipping was higher for just one cable. though now that I think about it maybe the the longer cable weighed more than the first shipment.

Bottomline look at shipping charges with different amount of cables.

That's strange. For me it's always been the opposite. If it's a small enough order to ship first class, then the shipping's really cheap. For example, the previously linked cable costs $2.92 to ship one first class to Missouri, but shipping jumps up to $5.95 to ship two cables, because it has to ship them priority.

I think it depends on where you are/what you're ordering but my experience has been similar to JTsyo - One cable ends up being about 1 dollar cheaper than 2 cables. It might be worth checking to see if there is anything else on the site you want (Velcro Ties, monitor stands etc) - granted some of these won't save you money but it's nice to get things you want 😀

That's probably the key here. If you're ordering a cable that's light enough for first-class shipping, then the shipping will jump up quite a bit when adding a second cable. However, if your order is too large for first-class shipping, then adding additional items to that order will make little-to-no difference in the shipping costs.

JTsyo made it sound like the total shipping charge would decrease by buying more cables, whereas you make it sound like the per-item shipping charge would decrease by buying more cables. The latter has been my experience except with that initial jump from first-class to priority shipping.
