All my local stores are out too. I guess they still haven't gotten any in since the holiday rush.
 
Been like this for months, steady shipments are still coming in, just not close to enough to satisfy demand.

I just ordered another one from the Egg, 250GB so $349 but they had it in stock, noone else has for the past couple of weeks.
 
Yeah, Sony released a article stating that the reason there were so few PS3's sold over the holiday was that they were not able to keep up with demand and to expect shortages for a while. I assume its still the case.
 
This will also happen when they roll out a new version. Chances are that they are going to be shipping an updated version of the slim. Probably not a new SKU if the changes are just internal.

its likely just internal revisions anyhow. I'm sure you'll find them at the non rip off prices. I already have a ps3 but if I was looking for one, personally there's nothing out there that is a must have right away to pay over retail.

I'm sure these updated models or more are already on their way from china. GOW 3 comes out next week, so you figure sony would try to have shelves restocked somewhat for its release.

Also typically factories shutdown in china for new years for about a week which is about 3 weeks ago. So that could also explain the shortage or its a combination of both.

my local frys has a bunch of 120gb slims but best buy doesn't. I didn't see costco have their bundle either. though they might've just put them in the cage and have a cardboard pickup card out instead.
 
According to slickdeals Dell has it in stock at $269, or $243 after bing. Apparently shipping is free, but you'll probably have to pay tax.
