OKay I have a question about the scan for media server option that is available now on the playstation 3. I have a 2wire wireless DSL modem and a laptop running Ubuntu Gutsy Gibon. I also have my 40 GB ps3 both it and the laptop are connected to the wireless network. How can I set up my linux ubuntu PC so the PS3 will detect it and play music and movies that are on my laptop?

In windows, windows media player 11 automatically creates a media server but i don't know what programs do it in ubuntu?

any help would be appeciated..

I believe uShare is the best options available for Ubuntu.... I believe it's in the repos too.

Edit: Oh and I have gotten this to work with gusty gibbon and an Xbox 360. The hardest part for me was locating the config file (I believe its /etc/ushare.config, but I'm on Vista now so I can't check).
